Preparing Your Home for Sale
First impressions are most important. Many homes require a little work inside and out. Often it is only a matter of a small investment of a few hundred dollars to get your house ready for sale quickly. You might like to speak to us before deciding what work needs to be done so you do not spend more than is needed.
Look at the house as a buyer would and make sure it creates a good first impression.
A few examples of things to attend:
- Close garage doors
- Ensure garden is tidy
- All pathways cleared
- Clear the gutters
- Clean windows, screens, doors and awnings
- Remove stains from baths, basins and toilets
- Repair dripping taps
- Oil squeaky doors
- Raise blinds and open curtains to let light in
- Clean light fittings, put in 100 watt bulbs
- Clean marks off walls
- Remove kitty litter trays and dog food bowls
- Don’t stack dishes in the sink or the draining board
- Clear benches and top surfaces of any clutter
